Write Compelling Blog Content Easily
We have heard many very seasoned and experience bloggers state that content is looked upon as the very lifeblood of every online marketing business. The thing is that when you have a plan and a process, you can learn to write compelling blog content easily and quickly – if you know how.
This is why it is so surprising to hear so many entrepreneurs keep focusing the lion share of their attention to short-term strategies when it comes to their content marketing plans. This makes very little sense to anyone. And it keep begging the question: how do you expect to attract new readers when you keep cranking out stale and boring content?
This is actually the same thing that could be said about your website design. Every online marketer who has any experience at all knows that your blog or website has to look really snazzy in order to attract new readers and visitors. But I could argue – and I wouldn’t be alone – that high quality content is even more critical than how your blog looks.
An average looking website with a compelling headline and great content is going to out perform a great looking website with boring content every single day of the week. I would bet a paycheck on this. The point of the matter is that when you write content which will naturally attract the attention of new readers, then you have made any marketing you will need to do in the future a whole lot easier.
The thing is that you do not have to settle for below average content. When you learn a few good habits and methods, there is no reason why you cannot write compelling content easily. Let’s us look at a few resources to help you along.

And if the site doesn’t list the most popular posts, just go through the last 30 or so that they’ve published, and pull out the 10 most successful ones. A Beginner’s Guide for Writing Good Copy
As with everything else, there is much more to the art of copywriting than merely pushing one of your products. Copy needs to be compelling and needs to easily engage the audience. It needs to take readers on a bit of a journey or adventure, much like a good piece fiction would. It is through this copywriting process that we are successful in getting our peeps to return again and again. Not only to us back to our clients as well.
And when we refer to copy, this could pertain to anything from savvy emails to lengthy blog posts to even descriptions of our products and services. All examples of marketing text that we use can be considered as copy. And we should not approach it in the same manner as we would in writing fiction either. Just because we have gotten very skilled at writing one certainly does not mean we are automatically skilled at creating the other as well. But like skilled fiction writers, skilled copywriters can also make large amounts of money as well because it is also a writing skill that is very much sought after.
With that said, let us look at some great resources that can get us started in the world of copywriting. Consider these a beginner’s guide in writing good copy.
10 Ways to Write Damn Good Copy
Writing effective copy is both an art and a science. It’s an art because it requires creativity, a sense of beauty and style — a certain aptitude, mastery and special knowledge. Artistic advertising allows you to create content marketing that’s not just practical and persuasive, but awe-inspiring and breathtaking.
Writing effective copy is also a science, because it exists in the world of tests, trial and failure, improvement, breakthroughs, education and predictability. Scientific advertising allows you to develop an idea, and then test that idea. It’s how you know if your content marketing is working. 10 Ways to Write Damn Good Copy – Copyblogger
Writing Copy That Sells: The Secret to Breakthrough Words
An ad’s ability to sell begins and ends with identifying a “private want” and then channeling that want into “public” words. Only when an audience and an ad share the same dominant emotion does that ad stand any chance of compelling, converting, and closing.
Every piece of content you create has to do two things: (1) rescue its audience from their own personal hell and (2) deliver them unto their own personal heaven. Great copywriting is about salvation … not sales. Writing Copy That Sells: The Secret to Breakthrough Words
10 Tactical Tips for Writing Copy that Converts
Writing web copy might be one of the most deceptively difficult jobs out there. After all, anybody can throw together the words and phrases needed to flesh out a call to action (CTA) or landing page. But it takes a special combination of time, effort, practice and inspiration to deliver the kind of copy that drives conversions for your website. 10 Tactical Tips for Writing Copy that Converts
One of the best ways to become really skilled at writing copy is the become a reader of great copy. Keep a library is the greatest copy that has ever been written. You can even spend some time writing it down word by word. Devote perhaps an hour or so every day in learning that new skill.
Secondly, become aware of the all the copy that you see everyday. Pay particular attention to to phrase that actually makes you want to take action. In most cases, these are great “money phrases” that should be understood and mastered.

Finding Freelance Writing Jobs for Beginners
Struggling to find freelance writing jobs for beginners? You first have to convince yourself of one rule for good writers. They must and ought to receive payment for their hard work. It can’t be anymore simple than that. If you have decided to become a professional writer, then you have to get paid to do it, right? Otherwise, how could you call yourself a professional? You probably know all this already and want to find out more about those freelance writing jobs for beginners, right?
The reason I start this way is because it is critical to get into the proper frame of mind before seeking out this paid projects – especially for online freelance writing assignments. If you are targeting the online marketing niche, there is certainly a big demand, but marketers are always looking for ways to lower their overhead and they will quickly pay you a pittance for your hard work. That’s bad enough, but you know what else? They’ll dump you in favor of the writer down the street for a few pennies less. You don’t want clientele like this.
You want your customers to appreciate your unique talents and skills and work ethics. You want customers that appreciate quality, because once you have this type of customer, they will hang onto to you at all costs. When you start your freelance writing career, you need to realize this right off the bat. It will save you a lot of heartache down the road – trust me. Keep this healthy successful mindset as we proceed.
Find Writing Customers Within Your Own Network
If you spend any amount of time online and have cultivated a following on the social sites especially, then you have some kind of network – even a meager one. Get on your Facebook account and offer your services. If you don’t have a Facebook page, then create one and outline what you do best. Be willing to negotiate. You can offer samples of your work, but make them pay for good honest work.
Also, start tweeting on your Twitter account, and set up a LinkedIn account. Take advantage of the benefits that these sites offer. Join or create online groups – get a video made to outline what you do. If you are not too shy, then consider getting in front of the camera and ask honestly and sincerely for the business of the viewer. This will be more effective than you think. Most successful freelance writers have started this way.
Accounts to Leverage Your Freelance Career
If you haven’t done some of these already, then I recommend you get started right away.
Writer’s Blog. Register the domain, “YourName.com/net/org” and create a blog. You may discover that someone has already registered it. Keep playing around with your name until you find one. For instance, you can try adding your middle name or initial. Only use a domain with a .com, .net, or .org extension. Get a .com if at all possible. Believe me – it makes a HUGE difference.
Set up an “About Me” page to tell people who you. Set up a “Services” page to outline what services your offer. And finally you will want to setup a “Contact Me” page with an email that you check several times daily. After that, start making at least 2-4 interesting, entertaining, or informative blog posts every week. Put only your best stuff on your blog posts – remember, you are showcasing your talents here. After each blog post, tweet out the URL to your Twitter followers, place it on your Facebook page, inform everyone in your social groups and communities.
Fiverr Account. Open up an account on Fiverr. If you haven’t heard of it, this is a site where people offer to do services for other people for only $5. You could offer various small writing assignments on Fiverr. While I don’t recommend that you offer your services cheaply, I do recommend that you find some smaller type writing tasks that you are willing to do for $5. Your objective needs to be getting those people to buy your services outside of Fiverr.
What I recommend you do is check out the various writing jobs on there and see what might interest you. While you won’t get rich on Fiverr, you will get a ton of experience and learn how to deal with various clients – while making a little cash along the way. The thing about Fiverr is that it takes a while to build clients on there.
Elance Account. You could also consider opening an account on Elance. Elance is a site where all kinds of freelancers post their talents. The thing about this site is that if you are serious about earning money there, they will charge you a subscription fee. Use your own judgment here. You can open a free account and look around the site to see what is offered. Like Fiverr, it takes a while to get your foot in the door and generate some business. I did this successfully for about a year, but it took me about a month to get it going.
Skills That Freelance Writers Could Offer
One of the biggest roadblocks for beginning freelance writers lies in fully understanding their skill set. I find that many of them do not realize the services that they are capable of offering. If you are a decent writer, then there is no reason why you couldn’t offer some of these services. The facts are that many companies and individuals need writers on a daily basis, for many different tasks.
Let’s list a few of these:
Proofreading and Editing. Other writers are still seeking out sharp editors to help them polish their work. Novelists are often willing to pay $500 or more for people to help them edit their manuscripts.
Blog posts and comments. Online marketers are looking to boost their link popularity to their websites. One way of doing this is to leave comments and backlinks on blog posts that address their niche.
Paid Guest posts. Some popular blogs are willing to publish articles from guest posters. In return, they allow the guest poster to place a link to their own blogs and websites. Backlinks on blogs that are really popular can mean thousands of new visitors. Marketers are willing to pay ghostwriters well for high quality work that will be accepted on these popular blogs.
Ghostwriting in general. Many marketers are just that – marketers. They have zero writing skills and therefore pay ghostwriters to help them develop informational products. If you are a good researcher as well as a good writer, then this could be a great income source. Most quality ghostwriter receive thousands of dollars for these kinds of projects.
Website content. We touched on this earlier. Content is in high demand for online marketers, you just have to make sure they pay you enough to do it. Don’t buckle under when haggling with these guys. Make them pay you what you are worth.
As you can see, there are infinite paths and opportunities for writers. You just have to focus in on what you enjoy and where you are most productive and go after the clients. Patience is probably the best tool in your toolbox. Freelance writing jobs for beginners are plentiful if you are patient enough to wait for them to develop.
