There’s nothing wrong with going a while without sex.
Well, that is to say that the decision not to have sex is a perfectly normal and understandable one. But, your body will change if you’re used to regular sex and all of a sudden you aren’t having it.
Except for a couple issues explained below, your body doesn’t really care what your reasons are for stopping sex. If it’s a conscious decision or a dry spell that’s not really part of the plan, your body will still change.
Many of the changes could pose higher health risks, but that’s not to say that abstaining from sex is a bad decision.
But you should look at the effects and decide for yourself.

You immune system weakens.
Sex builds up antibodies, so if you’re abstaining, you might find you’re more susceptible to colds and the like.

You bladder control weakens.
Sex works your pelvic floor, which can help control the urge to pee.
Of course, there are exercises (Kegels) that can help counteract this, but they’re not nearly as fun.

Frustration and lower self-esteem.
This normally occurs if your abstaining isn’t a choice but more of a “dry spell.”
However, these can also be unrelated depression symptoms, so consult a doctor if they worsen or don’t disappear in a timely fashion.

Your blood pressure rises.
Sex keeps your blood pressure down.
It’s normally not a huge difference, but you might want to check yours if you’re engaging in prolonged abstinence.
